“Heart is sea, language is shore. Whatever sea includes, will hit the shore”- By Rumi

Last week i wrote about how IQ, EQ and PQ determines personal and professional growth and while reading more on EQ and humans ability to understand, use and manage emotions made it to today’s topic.

Emotions are a very important part of the human experience that help people survive, grow, and connect with others. They also guide decisions, behaviors, and motivations.

There are around 87 classified emotions we use for various emotions and experiences we go though in our day today life.

Growing up i was always tagged as a very emotional and Vulnerable being as society always tell you that being vulnerable is being week or rather its a weakness.

Vulnerability:

“Vulnerability is the emotion that we experience during times of uncertainty, risk, and emotional exposure”

While these are uncomfortable and difficult experiences, there is no evidence that they are indicators of weakness. In fact, this is one of the biggest myths of vulnerability. In fact, i feel it is one of the most powerful emotions that one can exhibit. There is no courage without vulnerability. Courage requires the willingness to lean into uncertainty, risk, and emotional exposure.

Research done by the team for Brené Brown‘s book states the ability to embrace vulnerability emerges as the prerequisite for all of the daring leadership behaviors. if a leader can handle uncertainty, risk, and emotional exposure in a way that aligns with the values and organizational goals, he/she can Lead. So all those who are reading and are being tagged as being Vulnerable- “Pat on your back to be able to be Vulnerable” 🙂
